Here are few activities that are situated nearby our gite. This is just a general overview of what our region has to offer.

Once arrived at our gite, you will find of lot of documents to guide you for your visits in our region with many activities and a selection of our "must see" spots.

Anyway, we don't live far from the gite and will be happy to give you advice and tips to take the most of your stay in our gite.

Dentelles Montmirail

This massif sculptured as a lace rock is an ideal place for hikers, climbers, mountain bikers, ... On each hillside, vineyards have been planted and the wine is to be tasted in famous wine cellars around: Beaumes de Venise, Vacqueyras,...

Mont Ventoux

Mont-Ventoux

The "Giant of Provence", feared by professional and amateur cyclists has a summit at 1912m and is classified by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. It's an ideal place to walk and discover protected fauna and flora. Hikes, mountain biking (Bike park on the south part), downhill karting and mountain restaurants await you.

Fontaine de Vaucluse

The Sorgue, a clear water river links Fontaine de Vaucluse to Isle sur Sorgue. Arising out of a mysterious spring, this waterway appears from a huge and dark abyss and winds until the village of l'Isle sur Sorgue renowned for its channels and antique shops.

Mormoiron and its lake

Genuine safe haven, the lake and its sandbeach await you for a picnic, a walk, a "petanque" game or for the bravest of you an acrobatic course off ground in a pine forest.

The lake of Monteux.

The lake of Monteux

With a pond of 10ha and a park of 35ha equipped with wooden bridges to walk in a peaceful atmosphere, the lake of Monteux is an ideal stop to relax. Spaces for kids with slides and other leisure facilities have been put in. Sports fans will find pedal boat, canoe, paddle, ... In 2015, the first water theme park Splashworld Provence was inaugurated. During summer, the multimedia equestrian show "Equi cheval libre" ( "Equi free horse") is displayed. And very soon, "Parc Spirou", a theme park on the comic strip world will open its doors.

The Nesque Gorges

It's a breathtaking landscape that has been drawn for thousands of years thanks to a river that has designed these vertiginous cliffs. The picturesque road that runs across, links the Comtat plain to the fields of lavender.

Vaison la Romaine

With its antique theatre classified as a historic monument, Vaison la Romaine will make you discover remains of a Roman city. Its bridge, symbolic architectural monument will incite you to a walk between the medieval village and the lower part of the town.

Séguret, Venasque

Seguret and Venasque Le Gite du Barriot

Classified as "Most beautiful villages of France", these two villages on top of hills are typical of Provence. They've kept the charming side of the old towns  where facades in carved stone face each other in shaded narrow alleys. In addition, they will offer a view on the plains in the vicinity.

Avignon

Avignon Le gite du Barriot

The Palace of the Popes, the Saint Bénézet bridge,... are names that have contributed to the legend of this big city set on the Rhone river banks. Nowadays, this fortified medieval city has a strong cultural activity with the Avignon Festival. The Avignon Festival is today one of the most important contemporary performing arts events in the world.

Farmers' markets

What would be Provence without its typical markets where regional farm products are proudly displayed. Melons, tomatoes, strawberries and many other vegetables, fruits and specialities await to deal with all of your senses. "Marchés de producteur" on the map.

Via Venaissia

Via-venaissia

It used to be a railway line but now it's a green way aimed at pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers,...You will be surrounded by agricultural fields and Nature. This carfree area will often offer you a lovely view on Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. The via venaissia is located 1km away from the gite via a country lane.
